U-Stars is AN introductory learn to skate and hockey program for kids 3-5 years old (birth years 2019, 2020, 2021).  

Our development program provides kids a safe, positive and encouraging hour on-ice focused on the core beginning skating and hockey skills - balance, gliding, edges, puck control, passing and shooting. 

The program is organized across 3 fundamental levels and ALL PLAYERS will shift through each phase over the season.

A parent/guardian is encouraged to join us on the ice!

1. SKATE

Focused on skating fundamentals - balance, gliding, and edges

Details

  • Weekly one hour sessions on SATURDAYS mid to late morning

  • Starts mid-November to March (weather permitting

  • Max 12 skaters on ice

  • Location: Under the stars at the HatBox Outdoor Rink in Lindsay

  • Cost: $40 (for jersey & socks)

WAIVER

Registration Policy

  • Payment is due in full at the point of registration to cover the cost of the jersey and socks; no additional fees are required and no refunds will be provided.

  • KL Hockey reserves the right to change the time of a program. We will do our best to give as much notice as possible.

  • A guardian is required on-site for the duration of the on-ice programming.

 

Participation Waiver

The Participant and the Participant’s Parent/Legal Guardian hereby acknowledge that:                        

  1. The participant has voluntarily applied to participate in U-STARS.

  2. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent or Legal Guardian understand that the act of skating and playing hockey involves risk of injury to the Participant and other people, which includes but is not limited to death, permanent or temporary paralysis, disability, physical or mental damage or other injury, as well as damage to the Participants equipment and personal property.

  3. KL Hockey (includes any and all staff, board of directors, members and/or volunteers) and the property on which activities are conducted assumes no liability for loss, damage, or any kind of injury sustained by the Participant or the Participant’s property while participating.

  4. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent or Legal Guardian therefore assume all risk associated by participating.

  5. By signing the release of liability and participating in the program, the Participant and the Participant’s Parent or Legal Guardian hereby fully release and discharge KL Hockey from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action or causes of action present or future, resulting from or arising out of the Participants participation.

  6. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent or Legal Guardian agree to indemnify KL Hockey and hold it harmless from any and all liability attributable to any personal injury, or loss or damage to property related to the Participant’s participation.

  7. The Participant and the Participant’s Parent or Legal Guardian acknowledge any photos, videotaped footage or audio recording taken of participants are for KL Hockey purposes only.  Images will only be used for promotions and/or educational use of KL Hockey.

Above all, we’ve made it our mission to give back by introducing & teaching the game to the next generation. Whether you’re new to hockey or a master of the game, U-STARS introductory program offers a fun-filled experience for you to enjoy with your little tyke.
